Micheal Shaw

Micheal Shaw is an advancement executive, nationally recognized storyteller, marketing strategist, and speaker known for helping organizations turn emotional connection into transformational impact.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Micheal has worked across nonprofit leadership, healthcare marketing, education, consumer brands, and mission-driven communications — developing campaigns and strategies that bridge the gap between institutional goals and authentic human engagement.

As Chief Advancement Officer at Durham Nativity School, Micheal oversees fundraising, donor stewardship, strategic communications, partnerships, and community engagement. His leadership philosophy centers on the belief that the future of philanthropy will belong to organizations that understand belonging, trust, emotional resonance, and story-driven connection.

Micheal is also the co-founder of a pediatric cancer nonprofit inspired by his daughter’s childhood cancer journey — an experience that deeply shaped his understanding of generosity, community, and the emotional realities behind giving.
